Liberal relativism is the trait by which actions or views that are demonised by liberals when practiced or held by conservatives suddenly become acceptable when held or practiced by liberals.
Examples include:
- Liberals smearing Republican vice-presidential choice Sarah Palin for her daughter's sex outside of marriage, when various liberals see no problem with it.
- Liberals criticising the use of water boarding by patriotic Americans as being a violation of human rights, but are happy to use it as a debating tactic when performed by liberals.
- Liberals demonising conservative support of the Defense of Marriage Act, then promptly supporting it themselves when in power.
