A Liberal trick is a deceitful ploy used by liberals in an attempt to draw an opponent in to saying or doing something which can then be dishonestly twisted to show the opponent in a bad light.

It is commonly used by leftist politicians and journalists as an attempt to discredit conservatives, when unable to argue against conservative views with logic alone.
