Lord's Day

The Lord's Day is observed on Sunday in most sects of Christianity. It is the principal day of worship in most Christian sects, and numerous Christians elect to observe it as a day of rest in place of the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat) that begins Friday evening and ends Saturday evening. Sunday is significant because it is the day Jesus Christ rose from the grave. Compare Genesis 1:3-5 and Malachi 4:2.

Some sects, such as Seventh Day Adventists and Messianic Judaism choose to observe the Sabbath instead of the Lord's Day.
