MI6 (Military Intelligence 6) is the popular name of the United Kingdom Secret Intelligence Service (SIS). It operates outside the United Kingdom to collect and interpret secret foreign intelligence. Its internal counterpart, MI5, monitors subversion within the UK. Alex Younger has been head of MI6 since November 2014.[1]
