Manticore

The Manticore is a Persian mythical beast said to posses the head of man, body of a lion and tail of a scorpion. Originally of Persian origin, the manticore is still rumored to stalk the jungles of central Asia.

The Manticore is also found in many modern works of fiction, ranging from enemy monsters in roleplaying games, to comic book monsters.

The Manticore is also the title of a novel by noted Canadian author Robertson Davies (1913-1995), the second novel in his "Deptford Trilogy."
