Margaret Goldwater

Margaret Goldwater was the first wife of Arizona senator and Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. Margaret Johnson and Barry Goldwater were married in 1934, and remained married until her death in 1985. The Goldwaters had four children: Joanne (1936), Barry Jr. (1938), Michael (1940), and Peggy (1944). Margaret Goldwater helped start the first Arizona chapter of Planned Parenthood in the 1930s.[1]
