Mary Surratt (May 1817 - July 7, 1865)[1] was a conspirator in the 1865 plot to assassinate Abraham Lincoln. Convicted and sentenced to death, she also became the first woman executed by the U.S. government. She was also the mother of suspected conspirator John Surratt.
