Matthew Roy "Matt" Blunt (born November 20, 1970) was elected Governor of Missouri on November 2, 2004. Blunt is currently, as of 2007, the youngest Governor in the United States. He is a member of the Republican party and the son of House Minority Whip Roy Blunt.

A 1993 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Governor Blunt is currently a Lieutenant Commander in the Naval Reserve. Blunt is the only statewide official in Missouri history called to active military duty in wartime, serving for six months in Operation Enduring Freedom.
