Maurice Sendak is a childrens book author. He is best known for his book Where the Wild Things are.

Controversies

Sendaks book In the Night Kitchen is widely banned since it shows a naked boy prancing around. The book was first published in 1970. In 2008 Sendak confessed to being a homosexual. He hid this fact for fear that it would hurt his career as a children's books author.[1]
