Megadeth is an American thrash metal/heavy metal band formed in 1983 by former Metallica guitarist Dave Mustaine.[1] They are credited, along with Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer, with pioneering the thrash metal movement of the early to mid 80s. They are known for their technically complex guitar work and musicianship throughout their career.

Megadeth has had many guitarists, drummers and bassists throughout their career, with only Mustaine sticking through the whole time. David Ellefson, the last original member remaining in the band except for Mustaine got fired in the band in 2021 for allegations of sexual misconduct.

Megadeth has sold over 38 million copies worldwide.[2]
