Menzies Research Centre
The Menzies Research Centre is an Australian conservative think tank. It aims to influence and lead debate on public policy issues, with the goal of promoting conservative values.
Formed in 1994, the centre is named in honour of Sir Robert Menzies, founder of the Liberal Party, and Australia's longest-serving Prime Minister. Its opening took place during the centenary year of Menzies' birth. Although officially separate from the Liberal Party of Australia, the centre retains strong ties with the party; Alan Stockdale, President of the Liberal Party, serves as a director.[1] Noted members of the British Conservative Party have also spoken at the centre.[2][3] Nick Cater replaced Dr Don Markwell as executive director of the centre in July 2014.[4]
