Michael Rubens Bloomberg (born February 14, 1942, in Boston, Massachusetts[1]), an elitist New York City-liberal gun grabbing American Democratic billionaire politician, is running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020. He is the founder and primary owner of Bloomberg, L.P., which licenses expensive computer systems for real-time stock quotes to corporate America, charging a staggering $24,000 per year for one Bloomberg Terminal in an example of crony capitalism.[2] Using the high profit margin garnered from large corporations, Bloomberg, L.P. has funded some news-related businesses.

AOC sharply criticized the long-shot presidential bid by this fellow New Yorker as "plutocratic".[3]

Michael Bloomberg is one of the biggest promoters of abortion who has ever held public office. In his first year as mayor of New York City, Mayor Bloomberg arranged for it to "become the first city to require abortion techniques as a standard part of training for ob-gyn residents at public hospitals. ... The National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League pressed for the New York City plan, which was endorsed by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. The league is looking to duplicate the model in cities in the 17 other states that provide Medicaid financing for abortion," explained the New York Times.[4]

Michael Bloomberg served as mayor of New York City for three terms, 2002 to 2013. Even though he was a lifelong registered Democrat, Michael Bloomberg successfully ran for mayor as a Republican[5] in 2001 due in large part to the support of popular outgoing mayor Rudy Giuliani, and was reelected in 2005.

He ran for a third term in 2009 as an independent, spending a record-breaking sum—the equivalent of $174.53 per vote (more than ten times his competitor).[6] Michael Bloomberg is also one of the richest people in the world according to Forbes magazine, with an estimated net worth of $17 billion.[7] Michael Bloomberg is divorced and has 2 children.

Bloomberg dropped his Republican Party affiliation on June 19, 2007, stating "I believe this brings my affiliation into alignment with how I have led and will continue to lead our city."[8] Bloomberg is traditionally known as a fiscal conservative with social liberal tendencies. He was frequently mentioned as a possible independent candidate for the 2008 Presidential Election.

Bloomberg re-registered as a Democrat in 2018.[9] He has defended China's authoritarian, communist dictatorship.[10] Bloomberg announced he would run for U.S. President on November 24, 2019.[11] Despite the U.S. admitted about 1 million legal immigrants annually, Bloomberg called for even larger immigration levels.[12] He described California as a "great example for the rest of this country."[13] He stated that he did not regret supporting the Iraq War.[14]

Education

Michael Bloomberg holds a Bachelor of Arts & Science from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University. In 2001, Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism established the Bloomberg Chair in Journalism with a gift of $1.5 million from Bloomberg L.P.[15]

Political views and Mayoralty

Bloomberg enforced a strengthened cell-phone ban in city schools. Under Mayor Bloomberg, the high school graduation rate in New York City went up 18%. He supports abortion rights and same-sex "marriage". Bloomberg was also the most prominent Republican to oppose President George W. Bush's nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court of Chief Justice John Roberts.

Bloomberg is a supporter of illegal immigration, saying that New York City would "collapse" if they didn't have illegally come aliens.[16]

Bloomberg took office as mayor in January 2002, just four months after the September 11th terrorist attacks. Upon taking office, he inherited the largest fiscal crisis in recent New York history. Giuliani spent lavishly during his final year in office, increasing capital spending by 60%. Not anticipating the dot-com bubble burst and the unforeseen attacks of September 11, Giuliani left office passing on a $4 billion city budget gap, where city law mandates a balanced budget.[17] A large portion of New York City's budget are fixed costs. This created a predicament for the fiscally conservative new mayor. Bloomberg made some very unpopular budget cuts in the portions of the budget under his control, even closing many redundant fire-houses, a subject of severe public outcry so soon after September 11. These cuts, however, had only a marginal effect on the city's budget gap, which was ultimately addressed with the largest property tax increase in the city's history. Later in his second term, Bloomberg lowered property taxes, but not enough to completely remove the increases of his first term. Bloomberg effectively used tax breaks as an incentive to lure companies to the city. When Bloomberg first took office, the city's budget crisis brought threats from Albany that the state may step in and take over the city's finances. By June 2007 S&P (Standard and Poor's) raised New York City's bond rating to AA, the highest bond rating in the city's history.[18]

Bloomberg was criticized by libertarians for pushing for New York City's unprecedented ban on trans fats on restaurants.

Although he has remained mostly silent on foreign policy, Bloomberg was a supporter of the War in Iraq. In March, 2007, during a news conference in Staten Island, he said about legislation proposed in Congress calling for a clear timetable for troop withdrawal, "we ask our young men and women to go over and to fight, and if you have a deadline knowing they're pulling out, how can you expect them to defend this country? How can you expect them to go out and put their lives at risk? I just think that's untenable and that this is not a responsible piece of legislation. It is totally separate of how we're conducting the war. It's totally separate of whether we should have been there. The issue that you asked about is plain and simple: Should the Congress pass a law forcing the president to withdraw troops at a given point in time? I think that is not something that is in the country's interest or in the military's interest."

Bloomberg called tax increases on the poor a "good thing" as it would help the government effectively make health decisions for them.[19][20]

Though Bloomberg suggested that he might run for President in 2008, he never did.

2020 Presidential Election

Like Mitt Romney, Michael Bloomberg is known for his abuse of dogs.

With Democrat frontrunner Joe Biden's hope's dashed by corruption revelations in the Biden-Ukraine scandal, Bloomberg was pushed forward by the establishment DNC to counter a total socialist takeover of the Democrat party by Bernie Sanders. Bloomberg, a former Republican, bought influence in the party by anteing up $200 million in the 2018 Midterm elections to win the House for Democrats. Bloomberg was rewarded with a late spot in Democrat debates, although he had no individual donors - a requirement imposed on Cory Booker, Julian Castro, and Kamala Harris by racist Democrat insiders before all candidates of color were driven off the debate stage and out of the contest.

Bloomberg switched parties to become a candidate for the 2020 Democratic nomination for president.

Race relations

Bloomberg campaigned on a program to keep African Americans on the Democrat plantation.[21]

Bloomberg claims 95% of all murderers are minorities:

They are male, minorities, sixteen to twenty-five. That's true in New York, that's true for virtually every city. And that's where the real crime is....You want to spend the money on a lot of cops in the streets? Put those cops where the crime is, which means in minority neighborhoods. So, one of the unintended consequences is people say, "Oh, my God! You are arresting kids for marijuana that are all minorities!" Yes, that's true. Why? Because we put all the cops in minority neighborhoods. Yes, that's true. Why do we do it? Because that's where all the crime is.[22]

In an article published in Rolling Stone, entitled, Enter Mike Bloomberg, Exit Black Voters, author Jamil Smith observed that Stop and Frisk

"increased exponentially under Bloomberg, going from 97,000 in 2002 to more than 500,000 in 2006 and 700,000 in 2011. And the federal judge who declared stop-and-frisk unconstitutional in 2013 found nearly 90 percent of the people stopped hadn’t done anything illegal....NYPD officers disproportionately stopped black and Latino New Yorkers — 83 percent of the stops from 2004 to 2012, per ProPublica — despite their comprising about only half of the city’s population. ....I wouldn’t put it past the Wall Street oligarchs to be counting upon this, a forced compromise that will eject a charlatan wrecking their profits with trade wars and install someone who will be more friendly to them — but who will largely leave the most vital Democratic constituencies in the cold, possibly with their hands up and getting searched. This all may be a moot point. Democrats will only win the White House, or the Senate, when they can properly protect voters of color from suppression and give those voters reasons to choose them. That seems like too tall a task for a party hanging its hopes on the likes of Bloomberg. If defeating Trump really is his goal, then his cause is likely lost."[23]

Bloomberg, a certified liar, spent $10 million on a Superbowl ad using Obama/Biden-era video of children in cages in ICE facilities.[24]

Elitism and transgender toilets

We the intelligencia, people who could make it into this room, we believe in a lot of things. In terms of equality and protecting individual rights that make no sense to the vast bulk of people. They're not opposed to you having some rights, but there's a fundamental disconnect between us believing the rights of the individual come first and the general belief around the world.

Bloomberg News, owned by Michael Bloomberg, tried blaming Trump supporters for the Iowa caucus fiasco[25] after Democrat insiders (Robby Mook) stole election results from Bernie Sanders.[26]

Mayors Against Illegal Guns

See main article: Mayors Against Illegal Guns and American State Legislators for Gun Violence Prevention

Bloomberg has been criticized by the NRA, Gun Owners of America, Second Amendment Foundation and other Second Amendment advocates for his position on handguns, having co-founded the liberal gun control propaganda organization, "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" ("MAIG"). His gun control policies and executive orders continued those implemented by his predecessor Rudolph Giuliani.

New York City crime statistics for 2007 were the lowest ever recorded for the City. As of December 2007, compared to 2001 figures (the year before Bloomberg took office), shootings were down 11%, murder was down 25%, auto theft was down 55% and major crime overall was down 26%.[27]

Strong Multi-Million Dollar Financial Support for "Gun Grabbing"

Bloomberg, as a liberal elitist, strongly supports gun control and gun free zones and along with Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer far outspent the NRA to multimillion-dollar bankroll Washington State Initiative 594.[28] (See Northwest Firearms Forum, NRA on 594, VoteNo594.com) The newly passed law creates a new progressive police state bureaucracy with so-called "universal background checks" (except for criminals who never follow laws) and makes it a felony to temporarily loan a gun to a relative or friend even while you are at the gun range practicing together.
