Born July 3, 1956

Min Aung Hlaing (born 3 July 1956) is a Burmese General and Leader of Myanmar since the 2021 Coup. Soon after he took power, Joe Biden reimposed sanctions on Myanmar.[1] In spite of some autocratic tendencies, General Hlaing cracked down on the George Soros Open Society Foundations in the country.[2]. The US House passed a resolution condemning the coup in Myanmar, which was opposed by 14 republicans including : Andy Biggs, Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and Mary Miller.
