Monosodium Glutamate (also known as MSG) is a flavor enhancer that is commonly used in many processed foods. MSG is also used extensively in Asian foods.Though it is generally recognized as safe by the Food and Drug Administration (the agency which regulates the usage of such additives in the United States), MSG has been implicated as a cause of autism and ADHD in children, as well as many other ailments. Some claim it is possibly addictive.
