National Catholic Register
The National Catholic Register began in 1927 and its print edition is a bi-weekly publication. The newspaper follows Catholic teachings on such subjects such as abortion, homosexual "marriage", embryonic stem-cell research, cloning, and in-vitro fertilization. It also covers issues such as poverty and the death penalty. Although initially conservative in its outlook, it currently pushes more left-wing views, many times going against Catholic doctrine, to the extent that Bishop Robert Finn of Kansas City has requested that the newspaper no longer call itself Catholic.
The newspaper was acquired in January 2011 by EWTN NEWS, Inc.
