Nevada is the seventh-largest state by geography in the United States. Although it is known for liberal vices such as gambling and prostitution, its voters are generally conservative and voted for George W. Bush twice, qualifying it as a red state. Perplexingly, its senators include Harry Reid, the Democratic Senate Majority Leader.

Nevada was founded by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War; as a result, the State's motto is "Battle Born."
