North Sea

The North Sea is an extension of the Atlantic Ocean lying between the United Kingdom, continental Europe and Scandinavia. It is connected in the west to the Atlantic Ocean via the English Channel, in the north to the Norwegian Sea and in the east via Kattegatt and Skagerrak with the Baltic Sea.

The seabed beneath the North Sea contains deposits of oil and natural gas,[1] although there are concerns that these may be depleted as early as 2030.[2]
