In music, a note is the smallest unit of sound. Every note is defined by its pitch (how low or high the note sounds) and its duration (how long the note sounds). When one or more notes sound simultaneously, it forms a chord. A collection of notes that is used in a particular song, work, or section of music is called a scale.
