Obamaspeak is meaningless content from Barack Obama or his campaign, often designed merely to appease a liberal interest group, take a position that is perceived to be popular, or satisfy a reporter's inquiry.

Bloggers commented on the Obamaspeak during his campaign for president.[1][2]

An example of Obamaspeak after the presidential election was when Obama first publicly opposed the Roland Burris nomination to the U.S. Senate, but within a week reversed himself (without admitting his error) as the perceived popular opinion shifted to the other side.

Obamaspeak can be compared with the fictional Newspeak, which was a predicted variation of English that likewise attempted to dumb down the population in a senseless but efficient manner.[3]
