Oban is a town situated on the West Coast of Scotland. Oban is the location of the ferry terminal for ferries sailing to many Hebridean islands. Caledonian MacBrayne are the state-controlled operators of the majority of these ferries, which have imposed Sunday sailings on the islands in conflict with the wishes of their God-fearing inhabitants. In recent years a large homosexual community has established itself in the town leading it to be dubbed "the San Francisco of the North" and nicknamed "Gayban". Most of the natives are opposed to homosexuality but, if migration continues at its present rate, by 2010 homosexuals will form the majority of the population.

Oban should be pronounced with an extended 'O'.
