Ohio is located in the Midwestern region of the United States and on March 1st, 1803 became the seventeenth state to enter into the union. During the American Civil War Ohio supported the United States. The capital of Ohio is Columbus which is also its largest city. Other large cities in Ohio include Cincinnati and Cleveland. Ohio borders the states of Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia. The current governor of Ohio is Ted Strickland, a Democrat.
