Pérotin

Pérotin was a composer active in Paris in the early 13th century, composing in the style of Ars Antiqua.
Along with his teacher, Léonin, he was one of the few composers of the period known by name, and noted for his use of florid organum, in which each note of a plainchant would underlie an elaborate melody on top.
