The PAX Television Network was a cable television channel created in 1996 in response to the pervasive presence of violence, nudity, commercialism, homosexuality, atheist values, and liberal bias on television. The network manifesto was to provide quality, wholesome programming for the whole Christian family. After an inspirational 9 years of transmission to its dedicated viewers, the PAX network changed its name to ION network and overhauled its programming lineup. As their new secular name would suggest, the replacement programs strayed from the original orientation of the network by including occasional violence and strong language.
