Unlike the larger and better-funded Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad does not manage social welfare programs; it concentrates instead on spectacular attacks against Israeli civilians and military forces, sometimes using women and children as suicide bombers. Its most deadly attacks include the October 2003 suicide bombing at the Maxim restaurant in Haifa, killing 22 and wounding 60; the June 2002 suicide bombing at Meggido junction, killing 17 and wounding 50; and the March 1996 suicide bombing of the Dizengoff shopping mall in Tel Aviv, killing 13 and injuring 75. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the July 12, 2005 suicide attack on a Netanya shopping mall, killing 5 and wounding 90 and at the Netanya mall on December 5, 2005, killing 5 and wounding 50. The group claimed responsibility (along with the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade) for the April 17, 2006 bombing of the old central bus station in Tel Aviv, killing 11 and wounding 70 and the January 29, 2007 attack on a bakery in Eilat, which killed three.</blockquote></ref><ref name=walla>Amir Bohbot, [https://news.walla.co.il/item/3459249 Terrorism, Assassinations, Rockets and Escape from Prison: The Long Account of Israel and Islamic Jihad], ''Walla'',

The terrorist organization, founded by students, built its power in the 1980s with the help of Tehran. Since then, the GSS and the IDF have been trying to thwart its steps and expose its infrastructure. On the other hand, the terrorists of the organization raise their heads again and again. Recently, jihad has intensified in Jenin. If the escaped prisoners arrive in the city, the IDF is expected to have a very difficult battle

The basis for the establishment of Islamic Jihad began with the Islamic Revolution in Iran in the late 1970s and Khomeini's rise to power. The spirit that fueled the Muslim Brotherhood's military activity in Egypt, culminating in the assassination of President Anwar Sadat in 1981, also inspired the organization, as well as the military activity of political Islam in Sudan, which led to the establishment of a Sharia law-based military regime.

A small group of students in Egypt formed the small and extremist organization, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) to Shiites, in order to "liberate" (sic) Palestine from Israel and take a violent approach - by way of terrorism.
 +

 +
This approach helped connect with Iran, which would later lead to a permanent pipeline for the transfer of funds from Tehran to the territories. In 1986-1987, jihadist operatives led murderous attacks that overshadowed Hamas' terrorism, which was initially perceived as more social than religious. The terror perpetrated by the PIJ helped raise funds, but years later led to the expulsion of senior members of the organization from the territories to Lebanon, including Shaqaqi. In November 1994, the strongest signal was given to change the trend in relation to the organization's activists and senior officials, when Hani Abed, one of the organization's leaders in Gaza, was killed in a car bomb blast.</blockquote></ref>

Hamas and PIJ, it seems, want to continue receiving funds and weapons from Iran, but they do not want to be seen by Arabs and Muslims as mercenaries serving Iran's interests in the Middle East.

Hamas and PIJ want the Palestinians and the rest of the Arabs and Muslims to believe that their only goal is to "liberate all of Palestine, from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea" -- a euphemism for driving the Jews out of Israel and replacing it with an Islamist state.

That is most likely why both Palestinian terror groups were quick to issue statements denying that their main goal is to defend Iran and serve its interests in the Middle East.

In recent months, the General Security Service has revealed and thwarted an attempt by the Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in the Gaza Strip to establish a terrorist infrastructure in Judea and Samaria in order to carry out attacks in front of Israeli targets.

As part of the affair, a number of Palestinians from Jenin and the surrounding villages who had been recruited by GAP officials from the Gaza Strip for military activity were arrested by the GSS and the IDF.
 +

 +
Their GSS investigations show that they were recruited on social media by Ahmad Nabil Ahmad Judeh, a resident of Rafah in the Gaza Strip, a military GAP operative involved in locating and recruiting young people in the field.
 +

 +
Prominent among the detainees is 'Yasmin Shaaban', 40, a resident of the village of Jalama near Jenin, a mother of four, a PIJ activist who previously served a prison sentence for involvement in planning a suicide bombing in the Gaza Strip.
 +

 +
The investigation revealed that Shaaban acted as an intermediary between Ahmad Judeh, a resident of the Gaza Strip, and members of the squads in Judea and Samaria and assisted them with money transfers, weapons and ammunition.
 +

 +
Jasmine's arrest and interrogation were a key factor in deciphering the affair.
 +

 +
The information that emerged during the investigation led to the identification of the targeting infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
 +

The investigation revealed an outline targeting the terrorist infrastructure from the IDF, according to which, among other things, Ahmad Judeh acted on behalf of
 +

 +
Ghad Shaker Diab Ganam, a resident of Rafah, a senior GAP official in the Gaza Strip.
 +

 +
The investigation led to the arrest of about 7 conscripts from Judea and Samaria.
 +
One of the members of the squads in Judea and Samaria is 'Muhammad Yassin,' a resident of the village of Deir Abu Daif near Jenin.
 +

 +
The investigation revealed that he recruited a number of other people from his village, who were also arrested.
 +

 +
Yassin and members of his squad received training materials from the Gaza Strip and manufactured a high-quality rocket-like explosive device with which they planned to carry out an attack on farmers in the area.
 +

 +
On April 20, 2022, an indictment was filed against the two in the military court in Samaria, alleging serious security offenses.
 +

 +
In addition, indictments have recently been filed against 4 other cell members.

Revision as of 21:50, April 25, 2022

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) is an Islamist terrorist organization, based in Damascus, Syria and very active in Gaza and beyond.

The radical Islamic extremist organization was established by Palestinian students in Egypt[1] in 1979 prominantly by Fathi Shaqaqi and other former members of the Muslim Brotherhood[2] who were admirers of the Iranian Revolution and the Muslim Brotherhood ideology. The basis for the establishment of Islamic Jihad began with the Islamic Revolution in Iran in the late 1970s and Khomeini's rise to power.[1][3]

Since the death of Shaqaqi[3] it is led by Ramadan Abdullah Mohammad Shallah.[2]

It concentrates on spectacular attacks against Israeli civilians and military forces, sometimes using women and children as suicide bombers.

The group claimed responsibility (along with the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade) for the April 17, 2006 bombing of the old central bus station in Tel Aviv, killing 11 and wounding 70 and the January 29, 2007 attack on a bakery in Eilat, which killed three.[1]

One of its most notable terrorist attack was committed at the Beit Lid Junction in 1995 which resulted in the death of eight Israeli soldiers. It is funded by the governments of Iran and Syria and has established an alliance with Hamas.[2] Since 1987 it is cooperating with Hezbollah and receives training from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.[4]

It made headlines at an escape of 6 terrorists, five of them members of this Islamic-terror group have escaped prison in Sep/2021.[5][6] The architect of that prison break actually stated that they were very well treated in Israeli prison.[7][8][9]

Like Hamas, its stated goal is the destruction of Israel.[1] The creation of an Islamic state in "Palestine" in its place as well as the belief that Islamic law should be forced on the Arab and Muslim states and then on the rest of the world. It is recognized as an terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, Australia and Israel.[2]

Like Hezbollah and Hamas, it systematically uses its civilian population (Human shields by terrorists). In July 2021, its depo in Gaza at a civilian area, exploded and caused injuries and deaths.[10][11]

Iran's mercenaries

Noted journalist summed up how the mullahrcracy of Iran uses Hamas & PIJ:[12]

"Take your armies and go with them back to Iran, where you can fight your battles away from the peoples you occupy to achieve your agendas," said Sami Gemayel, head of the Lebanese Kataeb Party. He also criticized the failure of Lebanese leaders to respond to the admission that Hezbollah was created to serve Iran, and not Lebanon: "Are you ready now to face the truth?"

The Iranian commander's [Maj. Gen. Gholam Ali Rashid's] statements coincide with the Biden administration's delusional commitment to the fiction that the US will somehow convince Iran to abandon its plans to acquire nuclear weapons.

While the Biden administration is talking about "diplomacy" as the best way to rein in Iran's nuclear program, the mullahs are preparing for war and advancing their scheme to annihilate Israel and, with the help of their six "armies," occupy still more Arab countries.

Racism

On Aug 10, 2006, Ashraf Hanisha stabbed to death Italian student peace activist mistakenly thinking he is a Jew.[13][14]

Like Hamas and Hezbollah, it is oart of Islamic Republic of Iran's triangle proxies.[15]

In April 2022, IDF eliminated[17] a PIJ cell:[18]
A will was found in the vehicle of the three terrorists from the Islamic Jihad who were killed tonight by the IDF, in which one of the terrorists wrote that terrorist attacks against Israel should continue.

It was revealed:[17]

The three Palestinian Arab terrorists eliminated in an Israeli counter-terror operation.. were on their way to carry out a terrorist attack in central Israel.. the three Islamic Jihad terrorists killed in the pre-dawn operation.. were about to cross over into pre-1967 Israel to carry out an attack in the center of the country.

In Apr 2022, per Cairo sources: 'Islamic Jihad, backed by Iran, is key to escalation.' [19]

PIJ's Sha's Kamamji from Jenin, photographed himself with Swastika

One of the Jenin "Palestinian" terrorists, an Islamic Jihad member, eliminated on Apr 14, 2022, Sha's Kamamji [كامامجي][20] was photographed in front of a swastika, with the writing in Arabic reading: "The People of the Streets."[21]

April 2022, foiled.
Documentation obtained by the GSS: The Islamic Jihad's terrorist infrastructure in Judea and Samaria detonates a bomb as part of attempts to carry out terrorist attacks.[22]

In recent years, there has been a constant shift in the intentions of all terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip, which exploit Palestinians living in Judea and Samaria to promote terrorist activity. This is a systematic and extensive activity that is being driven by organizations, including the Islamic Jihad organization, in order to destabilize the entire region

In November 1994, the strongest signal was given to change the trend in relation to the organization's activists and senior officials, when Hani Abed, one of the organization's leaders in Gaza, was killed in a car bomb blast.

  22. Documentation obtained by the GSS: The Islamic Jihad's terrorist infrastructure in Judea and Samaria detonates a bomb as part of attempts to carry out terrorist attacks, Rotter, 25.04.22.

The GSS thwarted an attempt by the PIJ in the Gaza Strip to establish a terrorist infrastructure in Judea and Samaria in order to carry out attacks against Israeli targets.

Their GSS investigations show that they were recruited on social media by Ahmad Nabil Ahmad Judeh, a resident of Rafah in the Gaza Strip, a military GAP operative involved in locating and recruiting young people in the field.

Prominent among the detainees is 'Yasmin Shaaban', 40, a resident of the village of Jalama near Jenin, a mother of four, a PIJ activist who previously served a prison sentence for involvement in planning a suicide bombing in the Gaza Strip.

The investigation revealed that Shaaban acted as an intermediary between Ahmad Judeh, a resident of the Gaza Strip, and members of the squads in Judea and Samaria and assisted them with money transfers, weapons and ammunition.

Jasmine's arrest and interrogation were a key factor in deciphering the affair.

The information that emerged during the investigation led to the identification of the targeting infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

The investigation revealed an outline targeting the terrorist infrastructure from the IDF, according to which, among other things, Ahmad Judeh acted on behalf of

Ghad Shaker Diab Ganam, a resident of Rafah, a senior GAP official in the Gaza Strip.

The investigation led to the arrest of about 7 conscripts from Judea and Samaria. One of the members of the squads in Judea and Samaria is 'Muhammad Yassin,' a resident of the village of Deir Abu Daif near Jenin.

The investigation revealed that he recruited a number of other people from his village, who were also arrested.

Yassin and members of his squad received training materials from the Gaza Strip and manufactured a high-quality rocket-like explosive device with which they planned to carry out an attack on farmers in the area.

On April 20, 2022, an indictment was filed against the two in the military court in Samaria, alleging serious security offenses.

In addition, indictments have recently been filed against 4 other cell members.

This is a thwarting of a terrorist cell that acted with the direct intention of PIJ operatives from the Gaza Strip in favor of promoting quality attacks against Israeli targets.

In recent years, there has been a constant shift in the intentions of all terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip, which exploit Palestinians living in Judea and Samaria to promote terrorist activity. This is a systematic and extensive activity that is being driven by organizations, including the Islamic Jihad organization, in order to destabilize the entire region.
