Aureolus Phillip Theophrastus von Hohenheim, called Paracelsus, (1493 – 1541) was a Swiss alchemist, physician, philosopher and astrologer. He was a pioneer using chemicals and minerals in medicine. He is often associated with the idea that the dose makes the poison.
