Parsley (Petroselinum crispum), a biennial herb, has bright green leaves often used used as spice or abortion aid.
Another type of parsley is grown as a root vegetable. The roots are often used Central and Eastern European soups or stews.
To grow parsley one needs a deep pot in order to accommodate the long taproot. If grown indoors at least five hours of sunlight a day is required.
Pregnant women should not use parsley oil, roots, leaves, or seeds because those could lead to uterine stimulation and preterm labor.
