Public Advocate of the United States is a conservative non-profit 501(c)4 organization formed in 1981, Washington D.C. They are an organization that supports traditional marriage, faith and pro-life politics. Along with a network of volunteers, they hold demonstrations, media campaigns and petition drives to further the cause.

Out of a seven candidate primary, Democrat Mark Clayton became Tennessee's nominated candidate for Senate by espousing conservative and libertarian views. He will face Republican Bob Corker in November. The Democrat party disowned him and said he belongs to a prominent hate group, Public Advocate of the United States. Also, Democrats say they "will not do anything to promote or support him in any way, and urges Democrats to write-in a candidate of their choice in November.” [1]
