Purdue University is an Indiana public university founded in 1869.[2] It ranked #64 in US News's 2008 "National Universities: Top Schools" list.[3]

It is renowned for its programs in aviation and spaceflight, no less than 23 astronauts have graduated from the program, including Neil Armstrong (the first person to walk on the moon).

Athletics

Purdue has 9 men's and 9 women's sports teams.[1] The football program has won 7 bowl games (while losing 7).[4] The women's basketball program has won 1 national championship.[5]
