The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is the term used by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) for one of its governing bodies.

In the structure of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there are twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. These modern day apostles are considered to be special witnesses of Christ.[1]

The member of the Quorum with the longest tenure is generally, upon the death of the LDS President, nominated to become the new President, and thus the head of the First Presidency (the highest leadership body in the LDS Church, consisting of the President and his two Counselors)
