The Redskins Rule is a proposed predictor of the Presidential election. It holds that if the Washington Redskins win their last home game before the day of the election, the incumbent party will stay in power. The rule has been correct in every year except 2004, where the Redskins lost, but the incumbent party remained in power. Some have argued that since George W. Bush did not win the popular vote in 2000, a variant of the rule will still stand.
