Roland Burris is the former Attorney General of Illinois who was appointed by Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich to fill a vacant U.S. Senate seat.

On Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, Roland Burris "was denied entry to the Senate chambers Tuesday as he tried to claim the seat once held by President-elect Barack Obama."[1]
