Ron Wright
Ronald Jack Wright (April 8, 1953 – February 7, 2021) was an American politician who served as the U.S. Representative for Texas's 6th congressional district from 2019 until his death in 2021. He was a member of the Republican Party. Wright's wife, Susan, placed first in a special election to fill his seat on May 1, 2021.But she lost the runoff on July 27 to freshman state Representative Jake Ellzey of Waxahachie in Ellis County, also a Republican.
Tenure
Wright voted in favor of the Thomas Massie amendment that spoke out against spending for forever wars. The amendment would have renamed the "Bipartisan Budget Act" to "A Bill to Kick the Can Down the Road and for Other Purposes".[1][2]
Wright also voted against the National Defense Authorization Act of 2020 which prolongs the soldiers' presence in Afghanistan as well as give massive amounts of foreign aids while the American working class suffers.[3]
Wright voted to object to the results of both Pennsylvania and Arizona.
Death
Wright had lung cancer and died on February 7, 2021, due to having a combination of COVID-19 and lung cancer.
