'''Rudolf Clausius''' (1822–1888) was a German [[physicist ]] and [[mathematician ]] who discovered [[entropy]] in 1865 and named it. His paper in 1850 in [[thermodynamics ]] was the first statement of the concept of the [[second law of thermodynamics]]. He also restated the [[Carnot cycle ]] in a more rigorous manner.
