Rules of Civility and Decent Behaviour In Company and Conversation

Rules of Civility and Decent Behaviour In Company and Conversation is a book that is associated with George Washington through his archives at Mount Vernon.[1] Early on, the rules were thought to have been authored by Washington himself, but a historian named Moncure D. Conway traced the rules back to French origin.[2]

It is believed that young George Washington was taught these rules at a young age by Captain Augustine Washington.[3]
