The SAFE Banking Act is misnamed federal legislation attempting to expand the reach and harm of cannabis nationwide, by legitimizing banking by cannabis businesses.

Crime and medical harm are apparently something the misguided politicians want to expand, under pressure by the marijuana industry.

Dems shamelessly and successfully sought to pass this in the lame duck session of Congress in December 2022, before a Republican majority in the House can prevent this expansion in drug addiction. The provisions of the SAFE Banking Act were omitted from the final $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill in late December 2022.
