Scottsboro is a city in Alabama, in the northeastern corner of the state near its borders with Georgia and Tennessee.
It was the site of the Scottsboro Boys "trial" (a kangaroo court) where nine Black youths were charged with, and found guilty of, the rape of two women (all eleven people involved were illegally hitching rides on the railroad).
It is the site of the Unclaimed Baggage Center, the only retail store where unclaimed luggage (and its contents) are sold (the company has exclusive deals with all of the major US airlines).
