Sedna is a dwarf planet of rock and ice about three-quarters the size of Pluto discovered in 2003,
Until recently, it was the most distant object known to orbit around the Sun. But on March 26, 2014, it lost that honor. Astronomers reported a new object, 2012VP113, that orbits slightly further away from the Sun even at perihelion. The astronomers who reported this object, expect to find many more at this and greater distances from the Sun.[1][2]
