Self breast exam

A breast exam is a non-invasive technique routinely done by physicians and women to identify abnormalities in breast tissue. Conducting a breast exam on a regular basis is an inexpensive and simple method to detect cancerous growths in their earliest stages. Early detection is of key importance when considering the efficacy of treatment options. Women over the age of 35 are highly recommended to examine themselves monthly or bimonthly depending upon age and other risk factors. In addition to self exams, mammograms should also be routinely done to increase the probability of early detection.
