'''Sergei Mikhailovich Eisenstein''' (January 23, 1898 – February 11, 1948) was a [[Soviet Union|Soviet]] motion picture director , most of whose films were made during the [[Silent film|Silent era]]. He did, however, continue into the era of sound and his most acclaimed film, ''"Alexander Nevsky"'', with music by [[Sergei Prokofiev]], was finished in 1938.
