Sexual harassment is an unwelcome sexual advance made by an employer or superior, especially when compliance is made a condition of continued employment or advancement (quid pro quo harassment). Courts have also held that a "hostile work environment" can constitute sexual harassment. It is an abuse of power and should be avoided. Many companies offer mandatory training to teach employees about the dangers of sexual harassment, because current law holds companies legally and financially liable for sexual harassment performed by its employees.
