Shrimps are small decapod crustaceans, often consumed as food, and sometimes kept as pets.
Biblical Prohibition
The Old Testament prohibits the consumption of shrimp and other non-fish marine animals.
Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you. (Leviticus 11:12)
