South East England is one of the nine statistical regions of England established in 1994. It comprises 7 non-metropolitan council areas (which themselves are divided into districts) and 12 unitary authority areas. Together, they broadly cover the 7 traditional counties Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire (including the Isle of Wight), Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and Sussex.
