Stanley Laurel (Ulverston, Cumbria 16 June 1890 - Santa Monica, California 23 February 1965) commonly known as Stan, was one-half of the comedy duo Laurel and Hardy.

"He was a great artist who was also a family man and interested in everything they were doing." Huntley Woods.

Oliver Hardy and Stan Laurel made more than 110 films. Their chemistry was more than just on screen, as they were friends in life as well. Stan Laurel died in 1965 of a heart attack, 8 years after Oliver Hardy had passed away. Laurel vowed never to act again after Hardy's death, a pledge that he honored until his own death.
