The Statue of Zeus at Olympia, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was a 40 foot tall sculpture of Zeus, head of the Greek pantheon, completed around 450 AD by the sculptor Pheidias. The statue, along with the town of Olympia, were repeat victims of natural disasters, and were eventually destroyed by a fire in 462 AD.[1]
