Stokely Carmichael was a black-supremacist and activist. He was the head of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), and later the Black Panther Party. He was also involved with the Nation of Islam. Carmichael later changed his name to Kwame Ture, in an attempt to honor socialist African dictators Kwame Nkrumah and Sekou Toure.

Carmichael was a racist, a socialist, an anti-American, and an anti-Semite. Unlike other civil rights leaders, such as Martin Luther King, Carmichael rejected nonviolence and racial integration, instead campaigning for "Black Power", or violence and racial separatism.

He regularly spoke on college campuses, his speeches full of anti-Semitism and historical inaccuracies. [1]

He died of prostate cancer in 1998.
