Strategic Nuclear Triad

The Strategic Nuclear Triad is the designation for the three types of delivery systems of nuclear weapons by United States and the Russian Federation. Triad refers to air, land, and sea.

Th United States has no nuclear arms limitation treaties, nor has ever engaged in limitation talks with the Peoples Republic of China (PRC).

American triad

• Nuclear armed cruise missiles, drones, and manned bombers in the American arsenal (air based such as the B-52 Stratofortress and the B-36 Peacemaker).

• Land based ICBMs like the Jupiter, Atlas and Aegis Ashore.

• Sea based submarines with the Aegis nuclear missile

Russian triad

• Stragic bombers like Su-95

• Land based ICBMs like the YARS and SARMAT

• Nuclear armed submarines
