Strawberry

Strawberries, picked.jpg

A strawberry is a small, red fruit. It grows above ground on small bushes and is slightly cone shaped. It has small yellow seeds which, unlike most berries, are on the outside of the fruit. Wild strawberries are generally very small, but domesticated fruits are much larger. Strawberries have played an important role in cooking and baking in Europe and North America for centuries. In botany, despite what the name may suggest, a strawberry is not a berry.[1]
