Sublime was an American rock band formed in Long Beach, California in 1988. Their music is described as a blend of punk, ska, and reggae. They consisted of Bradly Nowell, Eric Wilson, and Bug Gaugh; however, Nowell, the lead singer, died of a heroin overdose in 1996, effectively ending the band.[1]

Music and Success

Their most notable album was their third, also titled Sublime, which brought them mainstream popularity. Also popular were two of their singles: "Date Rape" and "What I Got" appealing to less than edifying subject matter. In total, they have sold about 17 million records.
