Contrast with PETA

I don't know if it's liberal, but they allow people to have pets, don't they? I thought PETA was adamantly against pet ownership. PETA literally considers people to be animals - i.e., humans and "other animals" have exactly the same value and should have exactly the same rights.

ASPCA only oppose animal cruelty - not the adoption of animals as pets, their use as work animals, or their use for food.

By the way, if PETA is for animal rights, what are they doing to stop predation? You know, lions hunting gazelles and wolves hunting deer. --Ed Poor ^Talk 10:28, 18 June 2008 (EDT)
