Should the list of Allies be ammended to read Republic of China (not PRC). I didn't know Mao was one of our allies (after all we gave the Kuomintang and Chiang Kai-shek a lot of support). Hannibal ad portas 12:48, 27 May 2007 (EDT)

You're right; the Kuomintang (KMT) was the legitimate government of China at the time of WWII, though most of China was occupied by Japan, and the rest of China was effectively controlled by Mao. The KMT leader was Chiang Kai-shek. It will be changed; however, Mao and Chiang teamed up from 1940-45 to fight the Japanese invasion. --Ĥøĵĭmåçħôńğtalk 12:55, 27 May 2007 (EDT)

Double redirect

The page is currently a double redirect to Allied Powers of World War II, but it's locked so I can't change it. FredericBernard (talk) 10:55, 17 October 2019 (EDT)

Fixed and also unprotected it, in case you'd like to change it further. Thanks!--Andy Schlafly (talk) 11:08, 17 October 2019 (EDT)
Nice catch, FredericBernard; 1990'sguy, thanks for calling it out to Andy; Andy, thanks for fixing this. Protected pages can be a real nuisance sometimes when changes are needed.
I wonder, though, if this page should not redirect to where it is right now. "Allies" are people on the same side of a conflict. While this certainly was the case during WWII, and the western powers were formally known as the "Allied Powers," I wonder if a generic description page with a see-also to the current target would be better here. What do you folks think--is that unnecessary, or might it be beneficial? --DavidB4 (TALK) 12:49, 19 October 2019 (EDT)
